Rafe’s Place Skate League

Are you an experienced skateboarder with skills to share and time to give to the local community?

Do you live in High Wycombe, Great Missenden, Amersham or Chesham?

We’re looking for some passionate skaters to represent our new Skateboarding League this summer!

You’ll take charge of your hometown, mentor younger and less experienced skaters, teach new tricks, help build confidence and develop a lucky few into members of a community league to take part in competitons with other towns.

This has never been done in this area before so be part of a new and innovative programme that revolves purely around skateboarding!

Head over to our opportunities page to read through the role description and send an application form today!

Please note: This is a voluntary position, all applicants must be over 18 and will require a CRB check.

BNU Volunteering Fair

It was great to meet everybody today at the Bucks New Uni Careers & Volunteers Fair. If you took one of our cards and are interesting in signing up as a volunteer, take a look around the site to learn more about what we do, and then download an application form from our Opportunities page.

We are still looking for events students to join our youth centre teams, volunteers to run workshops, people interested in youth work or social care – and pretty much anyone else who would like to get involved!

We look forward to hearing from you.

Re:Vibe a Success!

Thanks to everybody who made it down to Chiltern Youth Centre on Saturday 10th March for the Re:Vibe launch party. It was an awesome night, we have over 40 young people attend to enjoy music, workshops and food!

We also want to say a HUGE thank you to Bucks New Uni students Pete, Lewis, Emily, Gemma and Hannah for helping us with the event, both in the planning stage and on the night, you all did a great job! Thank you also to Jim & James our volunteer DJs!

It’s great to see the youth centre open for business again, and we’ll be back there to run our multi-activity pilot project in just a few weeks!

Plans for Pilot Project!

So planning has now begun for our 6 week pilot project that we will be holding in two local youth centres.

The first step is to find out exactly what sort of activities young people would like to see in their local centres.

If you are a young person (aged 11 – 18) and you live in Chesham, Amersham or Little Chalfont we want to hear from you! You may see us around over the next few weeks, but you can kick start our survey by clicking on the link below and filling in our short questionnaire. It will only take TWO MINUTES and could make a huge difference to what happens in your local centre this year.

First round of interviews done!

We’ve just finished our first round of interviews for a whole load of festival and events roles, and we have to say that it was great to meet so many enthusiastic and lovely people! We’re going through our notes from the interviews so anybody who came along will be hearing from us very soon.

With regards to the youth centre roles – we will be looking for students to come on our books to potentially run workshops in music, art, dance, drama, sport and any other creative subjects that would be interesting for young people.

We still have some festival roles available and we will constantly be looking for events teams and youth centre volunteers, so if you’re interested, head over to the opportunities page to download an application form.

Thanks!

Opportunities Now Up!

The team had a brilliant day at the Bucks New Uni Freshers Fair a couple of weeks ago. We spoke to loads of interesting students, clubs and societies, and collected a staggering 116 names of potential volunteers!

We’re pleased to announce that a full list of all available volunteering roles is now up, so go and check out the Opportunities page to see if there is anything that takes your fancy.

We have a set an applications deadline of 31st October for all festival coordinator roles to give everybody a fair chance. Once these places have been filled, we will continue to recruit for assistants, officers and team members to support the coordinators.

We are also holding a first round of applications for all youth centre roles, however there will be many places to fill in the future so be sure to keep coming back to see what we have to offer.

Any questions, get in touch!
